Latest Trend - Small, Durable Laptops for Kids
Lately, the computer industry decided to focus on a slightly younger demographic change. No, it's not the technology-loving college kids, or young people with infinite knowledge over the Internet. Rather, when middle school children - six to 12 years.
The world's largest PC manufacturer, HP, which recently announced the release of the new Mini-Note PC laptop - a small, rugged, lightweight and low-cost computer designed primarily for children. More likely than not, HPDecision to produce the Mini-Note is a direct result of the success of the Asus Eee PC's. Since its initial release last year, Asus Eee PC's has become a top seller. The miniature device with a 7-inch screen (by the company as "Super Mobile Internet Device called instead of laptop) carved its own niche by aiming at the mid-pupil. But, as is the case with an invention, the unexpected success, the crop of imitators now begins in the rillMarketplace.
However, HP is certainly the biggest company in the mini-notebook market right now. And offer their mini-note is not more features than the Asus Eee. The Mini-Note has a larger (9-inch) screen and a sleek and durable anodized aluminum housing. It has a scratch-resistant display and the keys are coated with a protective layer. The HP Mini-Note's keyboard is also bigger than the keyboard of the Asus Eee - making it easier to use for adults. For extra durability, theMini-Note includes HP 3D Drive Guard, which (a signal to shut down the hard disk, such as sudden movements or shock sends dropped). Other advantages of the Mini-Note has changed in the Asus machines include Wi-Fi capabilities and a USB drive. The Mini-Note is about $ 100 more than at the lower end Eee but with a retail price of $ 499 (and more advanced models to more than $ 1000 price).
Along with providing some competition for Asus, the mini-note is also an attempt by HP to crack theEducation market - one of the few markets in the computer giant does not own. Both Dell and Apple are more computers to schools then HB by the company in a distant third. HP has also recently the development of the Teacher Experience Exchange, an online resource where teachers can access tutorials for teaching in classroom technology. Will, together with the mini-note, this initiative will help to put the HP name on the minds of educators.
By aligning the Mini-Notehopes specifically to middle-school, HP, increase their share of the education market and, hopefully, the same success as Asus experience. For now it would be interesting to see whether to take the more stylish mini-note is capable of a bite out of sales of the cheaper Eee's. Either way, both products will be tough competition in the coming months face, as more companies try to cash in on the craze mini-laptop. Intel hit (Asus, which actually out of the gate with its Classmate mini-computer)soon be releasing the next-generation Classmate, which has a 30GB hard drive and how the mini-note, a 9-inch LCD screen. And, rumor has it that Acer next in the series, the release of his own mini-computer with a lower price than the Eee.
Although not yet commercially available is the HP Mini-Note for the purchase on the HP Web site.
